Ceri Jones
Ceri is a non-executive director of PNE, a member of the PNE Finance Committee, and is the Regulation & Scientific Services Director at Northumbrian Water Limited. An economist by background, he holds an MBA with distinction from Warwick and has extensive experience in dealing with government and regulatory bodies. He worked as a government economist and economic consultant before joining the water industry and has held non-executive positions at a number of water industry organisations and local community organisations including an education trust and scout group. He is a keen fan of North East sport including Newcastle Eagles basketball, Durham CCC and Newcastle United.

Neville Martin
Neville has been a PNE Board member since the late 1980s, as well as chair of the PNE Development Committee. He worked for 35 years for Marks & Spencer and, for the last four years, has been working as Non-executive Director of the NHS County Durham Ambulance Trust. Aside from his role on the PNE Board, he is also Chair of Eston Park School, an inner-city secondary school in Redcar and Cleveland. He has acquired a vast amount of management experience through his work with Marks & Spencer, as well as in his role of regional director of BITC. When he is not serving on the PNE Board, he enjoys playing golf, following local politics, gardening, spending time with his grandchildren, and travelling.

Dave Mitchell
Dave is a non-executive member of the PNE Board and is a proven high performance managing director and non-executive director with over 20 years' experience in the Information Technology (IT) industry. He has driven commercial and operational success in the small and medium enterprise (SME), corporate and public sector markets. In doing so he operates at board level within companies and government departments, providing insightful leadership on the deployment and utilisation of IT solutions for rapid growth and service improvement. An accomplished management professional, Dave is also a trustee of the Red Balloon Charity and mentor to the chief executive of University Hospital Birmingham.

John Oswald
John is qualified accountant and a partner at Stephenson Coates. He is chair of the PNE Group Finance Committee and is also on the Loan Fund Committee.

Steve Renals
Steve is a non-executive director on the PNE Board. Steve is currently Head of Marketing at St. James's Place Wealth Management and has over 25 years' marketing and business management experience working in the UK Wealth Management sector for a number of leading wealth managers and private banks. He lives in Berkshire with his family and divides his time between tending the garden and relaxing at his family holiday home on the North Cornish coast.

Tim Smith
Tim is a non-executive director on the PNE Board and its Development sub-committee, a partner at Ward Hadaway law firm, and a fee paid employment judge. Tim has been involved in the voluntary sector for over 30 years and has worked with various organisations such as the CAB as well as a number of charities that focus on disability. Tim has also acted as a freelance trainer to PNE clients on the topic of the recruitment of staff and volunteers. Outside work, Tim squanders vast sums of money and time on trying to stop his very old house falling down!

John Strawinski
John has a long association with PNE, having worked with North East Workspace in addition to his work with the Board, of which he is the chair. As a Chartered Surveyor he has experience of a variety of working environments ranging from the minerals industry to lecturing in valuation. For the past 20 years John has worked with national brands and concepts in the leisure industry. His current role with a national pub operator has given him the platform to use his skills of managing a team to produce results in challenging and tough operating environments. Innovation, creativity and professional expertise in the property market have been key ingredients to this success. Outside of work and his duties on the PNE Board, he enjoys reading and keeping fit.

Caroline Talbot
Caroline is a manager at John Lewis in Newcastle where she runs several commercial departments. She is responsible for a turnover in excess of £9.5 million, and has a team of five managers and 80 staff. Passionate about retail, Caroline delivers the strategic aims of John Lewis to the department store group. From being a detective in the Metropolitan Police Force to running her own restaurant in Oxford, Caroline brings a wide range of experience and skills to the PNE Board including commercial nous and an aptitude for questioning the status quo. Away from work, Caroline loves to ski, cook, go to the gym, and is a season ticket holder for Bolton Wanderers. She considers herself a black belt shopper and is currently doing a degree in Psychology. |
