Dawn Cranswick finalist for EY Entrepreneur Of The Year
It is with great pride we announce our Chief Executive Dawn Cranswick is a finalist for Ernst and Young’s Entrepreneur Of The Year in the Transformative Leader category, the only North East finalist to be named. 109 finalists from 96 companies were shortlisted across the UK. The awards intend to celebrate ‘men and women who are building and leading successful, growing and dynamic businesses’.
Securing her place after a finalist interview in March, Dawn will now come up against some of the country’s most successful entrepreneurs, including those behind household names such as Deliciously Ella, MADE TV and Thorntons. In each region, an independent panel of judges will select regional winners in each category, who will progress to the UK final held in the London in October, to vie for the title ‘EY UK Entrepreneur of The Year’. Each country winner will then attend the ‘EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year Forum’ in Summer 2018, which gathers the world’s most inspiring entrepreneurs, game changers and government leaders from more than 60 countries.
Commenting on the news Dawn said, “It is an honour to be named a finalist in the Transformative Leader category of Ernst and Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year, in particular when reflecting on the inspiring business leaders also named. It was fantastic to see so many individuals who champion responsible, sustainable business in their roles on the list, especially with the announcement being made during Responsible Business Week.”
Joanna Santinon, UK EY Entrepreneur Of The Year leader, said: “The EY Entrepreneur Of The Year programme brings together the UK’s most innovative and forward thinking business leaders at events held up and down the country every year, where they can share knowledge and ideas, debate the challenges of the day, and form lasting contacts and even working partnerships.
“It serves to support the enviable entrepreneurial community we have in the UK and celebrate the contribution that it makes to the economy, creating wealth and jobs.”
Results are announced on 20th June.
