If We Can You Can Awards Shine a Light on North East’s Brightest Entrepreneurs
Last night, If We Can You Can celebrated the best and brightest of North East start-ups in an exciting award ceremony, which brought together the region’s finest budding entrepreneurs with enterprise experts and successful business minds.
The event, hosted at the BALTIC, gave fourteen start-ups the opportunity to pitch their business in one minute to tables hosted by enterprise agencies, local universities, and private businesses supporting North East entrepreneurial talent.
PNE nominated entrepreneur Natalie Diver for the award and hosted a table for her on the night. Natalie’s venture, Oh My Glow, retails healthy, natural superfood supplements,
Since starting the business in 2014, she had built a strong customer base with young women, who identify with the brand’s message of health, well-being and empowerment. This year, she secured a deal to have Oh My Glow stocked nationwide in a major national high-street retailer.
After a very exciting ‘speed-pitching’ session, votes were cast and the winner was crowned as Tumbles and Grumbles, a business offering first-aid training for families of babies and small children. The business, started by entrepreneur and paramedic Caroline Davis, was started to empower parents to learn basic skills which could one day save their child’s life after she recognised a lack of available learning opportunities.
Andy Stephenson of Weekend Box, who was supported by PNE Enterprise when he started his business in 2013, gave an after-dinner speech, sharing his journey to being a sustainable business and encouraging the young talent in the room to work hard and follow their passion.
It was a fantastic night, and PNE are proud to support the If We Can You Can Awards, which provides an opportunity to showcase both the talent of individual entrepreneurs and the entrepreneurial strength of the region.
