PNE Gains Cyber Essentials Certification
We are pleased to announce PNE Group has gained Cyber Essentials certification.
The Cyber Essentials Scheme is part of the Government’s National Cyber Security Strategy and provides an independent assessment of the essential security controls that organisations need to have in place to mitigate risks from cyber threats.
By successfully going through a Cyber Essentials assessment, PNE Group has demonstrated to clients, funders and insurers that we’ve have taken the necessary steps to be cyber safe. In addition, the certification will enable us to undertake work on UK Government contracts that involve the handling of personal and sensitive information.
Gary Nagel, Head of Digital at the Group, commented, “At PNE we take digital risk very seriously and embed the most up-to-date cyber security practices across all our activities. The Cyber Essentials assessment demonstrates that our clients benefit from sound technical security controls and our commitment to maintain strong defence against cyber threats in a changing digital landscape.”
In order to pass the certification, PNE Group had to pass an external vulnerability scan of our Internet-facing networks and applications to verify that there are no known vulnerabilities present.
The scheme’s five security controls include:
- Secure configuration
- Boundary firewalls and Internet Gateways
- User access control
- Patch management
- Malware protection
