PNE is proud to announce we are partnering with Startup Awards North East, as sponsors of this years’ Social Impact Award.
Delivered by local learning and development organisation, FIRST, Startup Awards North East celebrates ambitious early-stage founders and connects them to life-changing opportunities and experiences.
Over a programme of events, competitions and learning opportunities, the Awards give pre-start founders, new ventures and early-stage businesses pursuing growth, access to workshops, mentoring, 1-2-1 business advice, finance, qualifications and networking. Drawing on the North East’s vibrant and diverse business support ecosystem, the experience offers a unique and highly collaborative pathway to start-up success.
PNE believes the next generation of businesses will play a leading role in shaping our communities and environments for the better. By sponsoring the Social Impact Award, we will give a platform to start-ups and individuals who are passionate about making an impact for people and places across the North East and beyond.
Connecting to the incredible support opportunities we have in our region can be a game-changer for the aspiring entrepreneurs and start-ups we work with and the Awards offer the perfect opportunity for them to do that whilst developing their own business ideas and skills.
In addition to sponsoring with the Social Impact Award, we will be providing learning opportunities to participants, including delivering a workshop on Ethical and Sustainable Business Practices, sharing stories of purpose-led entrepreneurs and connecting them into the expertise of our North East Workspace team for advice on how to approach finding workspace or premises.
The Awards mark five years of partnering with entrepreneurship Awards run by FIRST, starting in 2017 when we sponsored the If We Can You Can Challenge. The relationship has been an important part of our work championing the start-up and success of North East business. Over this period, many of our clients have benefited from the experience of participating, both as individuals and Founders.
Sarah Grant, Founder of My Healthcare Recruit, took part in the 2018 Awards. She commented, “It was a fantastic experience getting involved in the competition. It was great to build my network and have the opportunity to gain valuable exposure and visibility for my business. The feedback from the judges was very useful, and it was great to talk with other entrepreneurs and to access their expertise.”
Billie Jenkins, Market Relationship and Brand Development at PNE, said, “Startup Awards North East offers a unique space for collaboration and learning that unlocks the potential of the next generation of North East businesses. Connecting to the incredible support opportunities we have in our region can be a game-changer for the aspiring entrepreneurs and start-ups we work with and the Awards offer the perfect opportunity for them to do that whilst developing their own business ideas and skills.”
