What is the Social Enterprise Gateshead Project?

Social Enterprise Gateshead is an exciting new programme designed to empower social enterprises based in Gateshead. Delivered in partnership between PNE and North East BIC and funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, it aims to foster connections and develop new and innovative networks led by businesses with a social purpose.

Through the programme's action learning, small cohorts of leaders and decision-makers come together to support each other to work through common challenges and explore opportunities for their businesses.

What is Action Learning?

Action learning is an incredibly powerful problem-solving process that involves a small group working together to take action and learn from each other. It is a highly effective tool for organisations to develop successful strategies, identify exciting opportunities, and confidently tackle challenges and issues.

Action learning sets utilise simple rules to encourage participants to think critically and work collaboratively. Through action learning, individuals are empowered to think outside the box, collaborate, work creatively, and develop leadership and management skills. This process helps individuals to learn from their experiences and apply their knowledge to real-world situations, giving them the confidence to excel in their respective enterprises.

How to Get Involved!

In order to participate in the programme, it is necessary for all participants to commit to attending all of the action learning sets as detailed below. This is important to ensure that all participants are able to build connections and establish a strong group network. The action learning sets will take place virtually.

Each session will take place from 09:30 to 12:00 on the following dates:

  • Session 1: Thursday 16th May 
  • Session 2: Thursday 30th May
  • Session 3: Thursday 13th June
  • Session 4: Thursday 27th June
  • Session 5: Thursday 11th July
  • Session 6 Thursday 25th July
