National Enterprise Network: Winner’s Story

“It’s a huge honour for PNE Group to be recognised as Enterprise Organisation of the Year by the National Enterprise Network’s Annual Awards. We are very proud to be highlighted in the Enterprise Sector’s 2016 recognition of excellence. It has been a very successful year for the Group, and the award is testament to a year of outstanding performance by the PNE staff team.”

This month, Cheif Executive of PNE Group Dawn Cranswick headed to the National Enterprise Network headquarters to collect our Enterprise Organisation of the Year 2016 Award, which we were recognised by in November of last year. The visit coincided with the networks publishing of our ‘Winner’s Story’, which we’ve shared below. Proud to be #TeamNEN!

In November last year, we announced the winners of the 2016 National Enterprise Network awards. Over the next few months, we’ll be showcasing details of these organisations in a series of articles, shared across the membership, as well as in the sector more widely. Last month we showcased StartUp Croydon. For our first showcase of February, we’re looking at PNE Group, a North East based member, that were awarded our Enterprise Support Organisation of the Year award (in the turnover over £750k category). As part of #TeamNEN, we know that you are keen to learn from each other – and these award-winning achievements may offer you key insights that you can implement at your organisation too!

What makes PNE Group special?

PNE Group have delivered enterprise support within the North East for the last 35 years. During this time they have continued to adapt, reinvent and create opportunities to add value to the world. 2016 was a pinnacle year of bold strategic change for the group. These changes, which included restructure, rebranding and digitisation enabled them to evolve and redefine both their business and offer, which has carried them to a position of real strength within the enterprise arena.

Here’s a little known fact about PNE Group! They were the first provider of high-speed internet in the North East, creating an incubator of tech and graphics businesses which even gained it the nickname ‘Silicon Alley’ from the press!
