The PNE Group 2017 Annual Report

PNE Group Annual Report

We are delighted to announce the publication of the 2017 Annual Report, summarising the highlights of a very busy year for the Group.

The last year has been another fantastic period of growth and achievement for the Group, as we have focused on promoting and enabling positive social and economic change throughout the world. Our efforts and accomplishments from the year have been outlined in our 2017 Annual Report, available to view in PDF format.

In 2017, we received recognition of our commitment to driving economic, social and business value in the North East of England at the Northern Powerhouse Northern Lights Awards where we were named a finalist for Social Enterprise of the Year.

Hosting our inaugural event, Advancing the North East, in November 2017 furthered our pledge to supporting enterprise in the North East of England. Asking ‘how can we leverage the assets of the North East to empower economic growth?’, the event brought together a panel of experts to develop a regional agenda for change, analysing the economic landscape in partnership with SDG Economic Development and identifying untapped opportunities to support and promote entrepreneurship within the North East.

2017 also marked the 35th anniversary of Shell LiveWIRE UK, Shell’s flagship social investment Enterprise Development programme, which we have been proud to support since 1986. Marina d’Engelbronner-Kolff, PTE Local Content and Enterprise Development at Shell International, commented: “PNE have partnered with Shell LiveWIRE for over 35 years. Since the start of the programme in Scotland in 1982 it has now grown into a global entrepreneurship programme which supports thousands of entrepreneurs across 15 countries. In 2017, with the vital, ongoing support of PNE, the programme expanded to 3 new countries. PNE and Shell also worked in partnership to organise the highly rated Top Ten Innovators competition that recognises and rewards innovative entrepreneurs.”

While mostly highlighting the series of exciting developments and additions for the Group from the previous year, the report also sets the scene for 2018 where we will continue to identify new opportunities to generate positive impact throughout the organisation and our work throughout the globe.
